It all started one year back, when the whole nation was swept by the Covid-19 virus. With each passing day all of us prayed hard to get rid of this. In the initial days, all came to a standstill. Performing arts was hit really bad. Yet dancers are the athletes of God, so they have the indomitable spirit to fight back. We at Shinjan Nrityalaya also fought back with our heads high. We have made a note and shared all the online program links in our last newsletter on New Year. Once again we are proud to share with you all the initiatives we have taken to keep the cycle of performance active and alive through few of our well curated online festivals.
Shinjan Nrityalaya cordially welcomed all rasikas to a well curated rendezvous: Beyond the Boundaries. It was a great honour for us to have with us renowned Odissi exponents Padmashree Guru Ramli Ibrahim and Sushree Sharon Lowen.
It premiered on the YouTube page of Shinjan Nrityalaya on 28th March, 2021.
On 29th March we premiered another rendezvous Nritya Prapanna— Dedicated to Dance. The revered guests were ace photographer Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Sri Avinash Pasricha, Renowned Dance Critic Smt Manjari Sinha, Scholar, Artiste and two time Fullbright Fellow Dr Arshiya Sethi and acclaimed dance critic Smt Tapati Chowdhurie.
The grand finale of the festival was on 30th March, 2021: Nritya Kovida, Season 2… Shinjan Nrityalaya was honored to welcome four astounding Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Odissi dancers Padmasree Kiran Segal, Padmashree Ranjana Gauhar, Padmasree Madhavi Mudgal and Sushree Aloka Kanungo.
We are once again sharing the links of these festivals here for all dance lovers…
Just when we were hoping to make a come back on stage, Covid-19 took the worse turn. In search of light in these bleak days, Shinjan Nrityalaya is once again curating few online festivals. All details will be furnished on our Facebook page soon…
Till then stay safe, stay healthy. Put your mask up and maintain social distancing. Hope to see all friends and colleagues in the pink of their health, winning against the deadly Covid-19 virus.
